How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?
The whole experience from start to finish was an absolute dream. Mirka was friendly and helpful and made the whole experience feel exactly as it should - exciting and so special.
Can you tell us a bit about your dress?
My dress was the most comfortable item of clothing I have ever worn. As someone who doesn’t normally wear dresses I really wanted to wear something that was very ‘me’ and fitted with our relaxed vibe whilst still making me feel like a bride. The lace detail and gorgeous sleeves on this dress were absolutely beautiful.
When did you know you had found the dress for you?
I felt like a bride, but still felt like me. I could imagine marrying my husband in the middle of the forest, surrounded by friends and family in the dress…and my friend cried so I knew it must be the one!
How did you find the process of having a dress made to measure for you?
I’m quite tall and struggle to find every day clothes that fit me properly so end up getting clothes that fit rather than ones I like. To be able to choose a dress that I loved and have it made to fit me rather than making me fit the dress was just amazing.
Did you end up choosing a dress in the style you thought you were going to go for or was it something completely different?
I ended up choosing the dress that I had fallen in love with at first sight, but Mirka helped me try on others just to make sure.
How did you feel in your dress on the day?
I have always struggled with self confidence and had said to my husband that I just wanted to feel pretty for one day in my life. The dress made that a possibility! I felt so comfortable in the dress and loved it so much that I didn’t have time to worry about feeling self conscious.
Tell us more about your big day / What was your biggest wedding inspiration?
We wanted a wedding that was relaxed and full of our favourite things and people. We love going for walks in nature and my husband grew up a farmer so rustic and a bit bohemian was our overall theme. We were always planning a forest wedding and my now husband was thrilled to do away with the traditional wedding clothes and wear Jeans and his Dealer Boots so that set our theme!
What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?
Our favourite picture so far is one our amazing photographer took on the beach, but we haven’t had all of the official pictures through yet so I’m sure we’ll have a list! The picture is just so special to us because it’s a reminder that we did our wedding our way. It was just a day of so much love and laughter, but at the end of the day we married our best friend.
Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture?
Don’t assume the bigger chain bridal stores will have more choice. Mirka has so many options to customise what are already beautiful dresses. Go with your heart and pick the dress that makes you smile like a kid that’s just won the massive teddy at the fair!
